How to Remove Scabs 10 Days After a Hair Transplant (Safe & Effective Method)

By Day 10, most scabs should be loosening naturally, but some may still cling. Here’s the clinically approved way to remove them without damaging grafts:

Safe Scab Removal Steps

1. Soften the Scabs
- Apply spray with Panthenol and wait for 40 minutes. Wash off the Spray after 40 minutes.

2. Gentle Massage (Key Step!)
- Use flat fingertips (not nails!) to massage in circular motions with shampoo.
- Let the lather sit for 3-5 minutes —this loosens scabs.
- Use a peace of medical gauze to scrap off the scabs.

3. Rinse with Care

4. Dry your head

 ⚠️ What NOT to Do
Pick or scratch scabs (can dislodge grafts)
Use hot water or strong water pressure.
Apply oils/creams unless approved by your clinic.

🚨 When to Worry
- Bleeding or visible grafts coming out → Contact your surgeon.
- Thick, stubborn scabs after Day 14 → Ask your clinic for help.

✅ Removing scabs after 10 days is a very important step. If the skin is not cleaned properly after 10 days, you may experience various skin problems that can affect graft survival rate.
